As part of our continued growth, we are looking fora Senior Design Engineer - Software based out of our new Innovation and Technology Center in Mount Pleasant, WI. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded control system development, preferably in the vehicle/vessel power train industry. Computer Skills: Competence in Microsoft Office Suite Basic experience in the use of editors and compilers Basic experience in the use of revision control software Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal relationship skills and listening skills that allow being able to work with people in all levels of the organization and external customers Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely Ability to guide and train other departmental personnel as required Technical Requirements: Working knowledge of embedded systems and of standard software languages including Embedded C and VB.NET Skilled in programming embedded software applications based on specifications Specialized Knowledge: Ability to coordinate the design and development of new products with different departments and subsidiaries of the company Skilled in software debugging and troubleshooting Main Job Functions Design and write software and firmware in applicable languages to support TDI products. Coordinate software development with electronic hardware design. Write supporting software documentation (e.g. design documents, version description documents, software and hardware test plans). Maintain software and documentation under a revision control system. Evaluate software deviation and change requests and recommend changes for product improvement. Work with R&D to develop controls for TDI products. Keep abreast of the latest control developments as they may apply to TDI products. Develop system models to aid in analysis and control development. Introduce new technologies to the testing and application of TDI products.
