Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse - Pediatrics - Queens

Responsibilities :
Perform nursing tasks and procedures under the direction of the registered nurse or authorized health care providers
Perform patient interview, take and record medical history, and prepare patients for provider/nurse visit
Perform and record standard vital signs
Collect laboratory specimens as ordered
Assist provider in procedures using sterile or aseptic techniques
Execute medical orders from selected authorized health care providers
Collaborate with the care team to provide self-management support by counseling patients on medical problems, medication use, diet and disease prevention and health promotion
Participate in nursing Quality Improvement (QI) projects and other related clinical QI activities
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies
Maintain a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport
Participate in team problem-solving methods
Perform other unit specific duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications :
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with current license and registration in the State of New York
Basic CPR (BCLS) Certification required
Current NYS Infection Control & Barrier Precaution Training Certificate
Prior work experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse preferred
Bilingual in English/Chinese preferred
Compensation and Benefits :
Salary: $60,000.00 - 65,000.00 per year
