Summary Position is open for the following: 0400 Teacher (Mixed) (0334 Teacher, Health) (0405 Secondary Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID). Learn more about this agency Responsibilities The incumbent: Teacher, DoDEA Virtual School Duties: Assists students in completing online work as appropriate. Monitors and tracks the progress of students. Creates, maintains and updates communication log for assigned students. Is available to staff, students and sponsors on an as-needed basis via phone, instant message or other synchronous communication tools. Communicates regularly with students, sponsors, staff and assigned administrators. Collaborates with other educators in required content area digital learning communities (DLCs) to exchange ideas and utilize best practices for online learning. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens Applicant must have at least a Bachelor's Degree. 0334 Teacher (Health)- A major in health or a minimum of 30 semester hours in specific health related course work is required. Course work must include a minimum of 12 semester hours in upper level health courses. 0405 Secondary Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)- Must have completed AVID Implementation Training sponsored by either an AVID Center or DoDEA. Verification that the training has been completed must be provided; this may be a copy of the AVID certificate, 1 semester hour of graduate credit or documentation which verifies that the applicant has attended the minimum 2- or 3-day training session. A second teaching category is required. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
