Advantage SCI Junior Security Specialist in Quantico, Virginia

Position Title: Junior Security SpecialistReports To: Customer and Program ManagerClearance Type: Active SecretWork Location: Quantico, VA /National Capital Region (some telework is anticipated)

Job Description:

Advantage SCI is seeking Junior Security Specialists to support criminal history record information and law enforcement support programs. Support includes the ability to request, receive, inventory, track, and audit law enforcement records and criminal investigations for timely and accurate entry into multiple Department of Justice (DoJ) and Department of Defense (DoD) databases. Some travel may be required.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring functional case management system and identifying indications of non-compliance.

  • Monitoring reports from external partners and identifying indications of non-compliance.

  • Tracking field-unit correction of non-compliance and compliance rates in a monthly report.

  • Extracting and digitally packaging criminal case files and records to prepare a response to query from internal and external stakeholders

  • Receiving, tracking, and preparing responses to requests for information from internal and external stakeholders using access to sensitive government systems related to personnel and criminal history records.

  • Reviewing case management system information using government established procedures and department-level instructions to make recommendations regarding the compliance of cases, reports, investigations, citations, notifications, and other documents with administrative and criminal indexing requirements

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant and specialized experience in law enforcement or criminal justice and an associate’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Experience researching, analyzing, and updating criminal history databases, statistics, and reports.

  • Experience identifying and correcting errors in criminal indexing submissions, biometric collections, and dispositions.

  • Experience reviewing, assessing, and archiving administrative and criminal history incidents and investigations

  • Experience with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) and in law enforcement

Working Conditions:

  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time

  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach

  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
