Defense Security Service EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT in Quantico, Virginia

Summary This position is placed in the immediate office of the DCSA Director and will serve as the Executive Assistant to the DCSA Senior Leadership, including the Director, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff providing advice and recommendations on all matters relative to the coordination, integration and synchronization, of staff actions, events, and activities personally affecting and involving the DCSA Immediate Office. Responsibilities As a EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT you will be responsible for the following duties: -Serve as Executive Assistant to the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Director, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff. -Develop and manage numerous high priority special projects for the Director and Deputy Director, and Chief of Staff monitoring the DCSA organizations' progress toward meeting suspense. -Respond to inquiries for substantive information regarding DCSA programs, products, and projects utilizing practical knowledge of the DCSA strategic mission and programs and of their relationship to the mission of DUSD(CI&S) and USD(I). -Ensure the Director, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff's strategic objectives, goals, and priorities are conveyed to DCSA Program Managers and Headquarters Staff Office Chiefs by using substantive knowledge of executive level programs. Local Commuting Area (LCA) Definition: Quantico, VA All U.S. Citizens who reside or currently employed in the MCB Quantico local commuting area, which includes the Virginia counties of Albemarle, Arlington, Caroline, Chesterfield, Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier, Greene, Hanover, Henrico, King George, Loudoun, Louisa, Madison, Orange, Prince William, Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties, and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Fredericksburg, Manassas, Manassas Park, and Richmond; Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's and Saint Mary's; District of Columbia; and all cities existing in Virginia or Maryland within the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the aforementioned counties. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-12 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Professional practice developing, managing, and providing recommendations to an agency's Senior Level Officials on matters relative to the coordination, integration and synchronization of agency events, projects, programs, and activities. Experience attending high-level internal and external meetings and briefings with, or for, Senior Level Officials; taking notes, documenting actions, following up and monitoring actions through to completion. Competence in creating and briefing messages and/presentations to Senior Leadership as well as an agency's workforce. Comprehensive knowledge of the capabilities, operating characteristics, and advanced functions of a variety of types of office automation software and knowledge of similarities, differences, and integration of the different software types. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes. 2. Influencing/Negotiating: Establishes and maintains relationships with key individuals/groups; understands what motivates them. Persuades others; builds consensus through give and take; gains cooperation from others to obtain information, find solutions, and accomplish goals. 3. Communication: Communicate orally and in writing. 4. Information Management: Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information; organizes and maintains information or information management systems. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
