Architectural Drafter

Job Description

Our residential architectural firm specializes in working with production home builders. The team is seeking an Architectural Drafter with experience in residential architecture. This person is an energetic and positive individual who has a strong entrepreneurial mindset. They are looking for someone who is ready to begin their career and grow with them!

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with the Project Manager and Director of Architecture in a mentorship role.

• Work directly with an architectural drafting team to produce complete construction documents for production home builders, including floor plans, elevations, and details for new construction of single-family and multi-family residential projects.

• Identify and solve problems in a timely manner, working well with a group for common goal solutions, using common sense and reasoning.

• Be naturally self-motivated and self-directed to accurately and thoroughly complete projects.

• Be open and willing to make adjustments based on the Director of Architecture's feedback.

• Balance team and individual responsibilities, giving and welcoming feedback.

Hard Skills

• 3+ years of experience specifically in Residential

• Architectural Associates Degree or higher

• Experience working in an Architectural Firm

• Experience taking architectural plans from conceptual design through construction documents

• Drafting experience (this is NOT a design role)

• Proficiency using AutoCAD Architecture

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in QUAKERTOWN, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

3 Principals, 4 structural engineers, and 8 draftsmen. The principals sit in offices, and the rest of the firm is situated in a pit with workstations. They are a 'willing to work hard for reward' type of firm. Not looking for someone that wants to clock in and clock out. The people who are most successful here have a 'stay until the work is done' type of mentality. Standard hours: 8-5:30.
