Rocket Software Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure Services in Pune, India

Job Description Summary:

As a Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure with Rocket Software, you are part of a global, fast-paced IT organization with a primary mission to provide world class service to software development labs and internal departments ensuring our employees have access and communications system to perform as the highest level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the team including ticket queue management, project delivery, proactive planning & maintenance, as well as incident response & support.

  • Provide leadership, coaching and support to all team members, including but not limited to recruitment, objective setting and review, performance reviews, career development and mentoring, resource scheduling and general administrative support.

  • Provide timely management information including understanding and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the broader IT team, and Senior IT leadership. Upon non-achievement of targets, identify and implement appropriate corrective actions.

  • Working with Senior IT Leadership to contribute to budget requirements and effective management through diligent planning and execution. Where required, manage vendor relationships to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements and contractual obligations.

  • Be proactive in Continuous Service Improvement by developing and maturing relevant policies, processes, and work instructions. Solicit and review feedback, documenting it along with any appropriate actions.

  • Act as a critical escalation point and technical resource, escalating to the senior technical team as appropriate and act as an aggregation point for incidents requiring broader communication.

  • Maintain and enforce controls and governance required for high availability of critical systems.

  • Design, implement, and enforce best practices and standards across all platforms.

Qualifications:

  • 14 + years of systems engineering and operations experience in Windows Server, Linux, Enterprise Storage, collaboration tools or network infrastructure

  • Minimum of 14 years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, and data center operations in an enterprise environment.

  • 7+ years managing a technical operations or engineering team

  • Strong Experience with Windows, and/or Linux operating systems, enterprise storage or Cisco networking

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to support end users with issues of varying degrees of complexity

  • Thorough understanding of troubleshooting complex systems and services from client through network/connectivity and server/storage

  • Ability and motivation to learn new technologies quickly and with minimal support and guidance

  • Ability to coach, motivate and mentor team members

  • Ability to collaborate with business partners across the organization and within IT

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Desire and ability to document configurations in support of a larger team

  • Previous experience leading a technical team and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Superior understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.

  • Proven leadership ability.

  • Exceptional service orientation and customer focus.

  • Ability to lead teams to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced, agile culture.

  • Experience in developing, executing, and managing an IT operational and capital budget.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate the value of technology to both technical and non-technical stake holders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
