Philips Mechanical Designer - Simulation in Pune, India

You are responsible for
Requirements, design, implementation, test and integration of module/sub-system in accordance with the higher-level architectural requirements and design specifications
Ensuring that the proposed design would have the safety, reliability and quality features built-in.
Perform hand calculations to support the design and sound knowledge of Strength of Materials
Provide FEA support in phase of product development and product enhancement in close collaboration with local as well global R&D teams and with the necessary creativity to translate findings to a performant and cost-effective design.
Analyze, Review and understand structural design requirement.
Create FEA model for calculation by model simplification, define different type of connections.
FEA calculation of structures with hands on experience in ‘Ansys’ software.
Experience in dynamic analysis , handling all types of non-linearities and fatigue analysis is must.
Thermal simulation using Ansys fluent / Icepack
Experience in simulation of plastics is an added advantage.
Advanced level knowledge of Ansys Software.
Result interpretation and post processing of results
Perform analytical calculations for welded/bolted constructions.
Create documentation as per certification requirements.
Design changes and design optimization activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience on material selection and International standards on safety and mechanical design.
Able to analyze the problem and asses if it needs a simple hand calculation or a more complex FEA simulation. It is your task to select the most efficient and accurate solution strategy to tackle the job.
Type of analyses includes linear and non-linear static structural simulations of Plastic, Sheetmetal, casting components
Responsible for validating the simulation results with physical test results
Ensuring that there is proper documentation per standards for the developed design
Ensuring the mutual consistency and efficient integration of the separate components in modular design that meets the product specification
Defining and assessing the Work Breakdown Structure/planning/costs of his/her area
Being abreast of technical developments in own field through study of literature and technical contacts
Maintaining product and company reputation by complying with country specific regulations

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
M.Tech / ME in Mechanical engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience in simulations of mechanical sub-systems & systems, system packaging
Expertise in simulation of complex subassemblies involving fabricated, machined, casting and sheet metal parts.
Expertise in simulation of system packaging optimization involving corrugated box, wood, dampener, fabricated and sheet metal parts.
Knowledge of state-of-the-art in programming and design methods & tools (Simulation – ANSYS, Hyper mesh) along with pre-processing and Post-processing of ANSYS.
Expertise on results interpretations with engineering fundamentals. Expertise on various analyses types through simulation and its results interpretation- Static, Dynamic, Harmonic, Thermal, etc
Knowledge of reliability required
Analytical, creative, and abstract thinker.
Ability to support and direct the Engineers in a subgroup.
Ability to communicate on different levels and is aware of the means and the effect of communication.
Disciplined team worker, ability to work independently
System thinking mindset and domain expertise in the related area
Ability to present ideas and to convince project team members
