Cummins Inc. Facilities Technician - Electrician - Level II in Pune, India

DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain safe work habits and actions in all aspects of daily tasks. Evaluate reactive work for safety issues, plan projects with safety as a priority, and review preventative maintenance for potential safety hurdles.

  • Diagnosis and Repair: Learn to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatuses, and components using test equipment and hand tools. Locate the cause of breakdowns and correct issues.

  • Maintenance Management: Utilize software to track, assign, and prioritize reactive, planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance work. Manage building management systems effectively.

  • Cross-Functional Work: Perform repairs across different systems and conditions, including extreme heat, cold, moisture, and confined spaces.

  • Training and Certification: Attend on/off-site training programs and classes to build necessary skills and knowledge. Make progress toward local certification as required.

  • Project Participation: Engage in improvement projects and apply problem-solving techniques while working independently or as part of a team.

  • Facilities Operation: Manage occupant services, including parking, janitorial, food services, and security. Oversee the maintenance contracting process and develop operational planning requirements for the facility.

  • Facility Electrical Technical: Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical distribution systems, buss bars, breaker boxes, motors, and other electrical equipment to ensure proper facility operation.

  • Facility HVAC Technical: Troubleshoot, repair, and install heating equipment, boilers, ventilation systems, chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors to provide necessary heating and cooling for the facility and its processes.

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications: Diploma in Electrical Engineering (DEE) or equivalent. Experience: 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience in a related field.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Advance Automation System like Siemens make Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) & SCADA technologies.

  2. Understanding of Siemens make Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) & SCADA systems.

  3. Engine Test Cell - Electrical & Control System Troubleshooting.

  4. Industrial Utilities, HVAC, Power Sub-Stations, Power Distribution Panels, On Line UPS power distribution

  5. Fire Alarm System, Gas Detection System, Water mist System.

  6. Knowledge of AVL – Puma test cells would be a great advantage.

  7. Good experience of various Dynamometers & Dynamometer Controllers like Eddy current, Hydraulic, Regenerative etc.

  8. Electrical & Control System Troubleshooting - This skill involves the ability to understand PLC logic & conventional Logic, PLC Programming Operation & maintenance of equipment

Skills and Experience:

  • Technical Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of automation systems, including Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and SCADA technologies.

  • Experience in engine test cell electrical and control system troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with industrial utilities, HVAC systems, power substations, power distribution panels, and online UPS power distribution.

  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems, gas detection systems, and water mist systems.

  • Experience with AVL Puma test cells and various dynamometers and controllers (e.g., Eddy current, hydraulic, regenerative).

  • Electrical and Control Systems: Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and control systems, understanding PLC logic and conventional logic, and PLC programming operation and maintenance.
