Cummins Inc. Electronic Systems Product Specialist in Pune, India
DESCRIPTION
This product-focused position tailors electronic and electrical systems for Cummins products. The role involves translating product requirements into hardware and software specifications, tuning configurations, and completing comprehensive validation testing of integrated hardware and software systems. This position demands strong collaboration across teams and geographies, and ownership of complex project aspects.
Core Responsibilities:
Support Controls New Product Development (NPD) - Base engine selection, Sensor selection, Communication Protocol, Controller selection, etc
Software/Calibration bench testing & DVP&R validation- support failure analysis, iDFMEA, Cyber Security (ISO21434) assessments, Functional Safety Assessment-ISO26262
Tune and Integrate Engine Calibration by working cross-functionally and leveraging open and closed loop controls tuning practices. Some features (but not limited to) include All Speed Governor tuning, Accelerator Based Torque Control tuning, Sensor and Diagnostics Tuning, Datalinks etc.
Wiring harness understanding for electronics engine as per architecture and ECM IO matrix. Guiding Design and drafting team for harness development.
Test cell support for engine development and diagnosis; Occasional in-field support for Software and Calibration
Skills Required :
Candidate should at least have bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic/mechatronics with relevant work experience
Good system knowledge of electronics and emissionized engines (with after-treatment systems) is a must
User level experience in using embedded software and tools
Prior experience of working cross-functionally across geographies is preferred
Prior experience with system verification and validation (HIL/SIL) is preferred
Good team player and communication skills (upwards and downwards)
Tools expected to be used in this role: Calterm, Matlab/Simulink, PCAN explorer, Insite, Power match, RDE; CDM/ CDAT, Integrity, C2ST
RESPONSIBILITIES
Experience :
Previous experience at a Senior or Lead Engineer level in a relevant discipline is required.
Demonstrated technical problem-solving skills and quality decision-making abilities are essential.
Familiarity with MS Office tools preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualification :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent STEM field required.
A Master’s degree may be necessary for select roles.
