Digital Manufacturing Engineer

Description

Contributes to identify and implement digital design manufacturing solutions using data, models and simulations. Supports manufacturing teams. Demonstrates a basic understanding of manufacturing knowledge for the application of digital tools.

Assists with the work for specific projects in the use of digital technology as it applies to manufacturing.

Contributes by applying the knowledge of data, models, and simulations to virtually analyze manufacturing systems to reduce risks and timing for specific projects.

Applies the use of prognostics in the applications of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and product quality for specific projects.

Assists with projects.

Learns the use of standardization for manufacturing.

Supports the communications with internal stakeholders.

Works with internal resources on specific project assignments.

Skills

Manufacturing Analysis Led Design - Uses digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, equipment and performance to make data driven decisions before changes are made and to drive continuous improvements.

Manufacturing Prognostics - Applies prognostics techniques by collecting real time equipment conditions and then use advanced analytics and artificial intelligence technologies to project future failures to eliminate unplanned equipment and systems down time.

Controls System Security - Develops and implements Controls System Security by specifying, reviewing, and approving company-owned and/or supplier designs for new equipment or upgrades to existing equipment to ensure our manufacturing controls and systems are secure.

Factory Automation and Control Systems - Implements changes to further automate manufacturing processes using available technology, programming techniques, and identifying needed material and resources for project completion to provide the optimum automation for the manufacturing environment.

Data Mining - Extracts insights from data by identifying relationships and patterns through use of a suite of data exploration and data visualization techniques to understand the underlying structure of the data and enable sound conclusions upon model building.

Sensor Technology and Measurement - Selects and applies the sensor technology, performing measurements in the acquired data that leads to the correct analysis and conclusion to help differentiate products that meet quality standards from non-conforming products.

Controls Networking - Implements new and improved technologies and methods capable of transferring information from multiple inputs either within a local production process or into databases to link machines together or to analyze the process for overall operation enhancements.

Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety in order to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Basic level of relevant experience required.

Primary Skills

Secondary Skills-

Additional advantage to have skills on Functional and IT.

MES Downtime management; Communication of control system with third party application OPC; Awareness of MQTT communication protocol

Tools Expertise –

Automation - PLC - controls – Siemens/Rockwell software - Must

Java/PL/SQL queries are executed. – Must

Apriso - Must

Discrete Event Simulation – Delmia 3D Experience – Good to have

Any other 3D Factory Simulations tools like Flex/Plant Simulation

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred

Work Experience - 4 to 5yrs of relevant experience.
