Red Hat Database Administrator in Pune, India

Job Summary

The Red Hat IT team is looking for a Database Administrator. In this role, you will administer highly critical databases including but not limited to Mariadb, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, AWS Aurora and MongoDB. You'll be part of the IT Database Team which takes care of all the production and non production databases supporting mission critical applications enabling Red Hat Business. Provide support to the business users in the 24x7 model and assist them. You will be working in an environment which is influenced by open source values and products. In this role you will get an opportunity to learn multiple database technologies. You'll also contribute to the team's capabilities and deliverables by demonstrating technical competence, personal initiative, creativity, learning, sharing, and teamwork while collaborating with local and remote team members as well as external groups .

What will you do?

Support and maintain various databases that we have in our environment including but not limited to MongoDB, MariaDB/MySQL, PostgreSQL , AWS RDS, AWS Aurora.

Monitor and maintain uptime of mentioned databases.

Respond and resolve customer requests within Specified SLA related to the data services they need.

Work in shifts in a 24x7 model.

Create and present health reports of databases regularly and present to the management.

Administer security and access related requests coming from business customers.

Work with Support AWS Vendor and take actions as per Service Requests.

Migrate code from lower environments to Stage and Production.

Patching the servers/databases and rebooting them quarterly basis for minor Vulnerabilities and on-demand for critical ones.

Minor & Major version database upgrades.

OS Upgrades.

Adding new and maintaining existing databases in the environment.

Work along with developers to troubleshoot various issues in the database domain.

•Monitoring replication process in Mongo, MariaDB/MySQL , AWS RDS, AWS Aurora & PostgreSQL

What will you bring?

2+ year Experience on more than one listed database here ( MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, AWS Aurora).

Experience on maintaining these databases on Linux Environment & Windows.

Open to learn new technologies quickly with minimum guidance.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong Knowledge of data querying languages like SQL, PL/SQL, Json etc.

Knowledge on shell scripting

Knowledge on Ansible scripting.

Knowledge on replication (Mongo, MariaDB/MySQL, AWS RDS, AWS Aurora& PostgreSQL)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering or a relevant field is a plus.

Below experience would be good to have:

Red Hat Certified professionals.

Candidates having experience in combination of more than 1 databases listed above.
