Job Overview

We are building a world class Global Trade Services (GTS) organization, and the AUTOMOTIVE Business Unit Trade Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting trade operations and compliance within the Business Unit (BU).

The Analyst serves as a trusted executive and key team member within TE’s Operational Compliance team for the BU. The purpose of this role is to facilitate TE’s compliance, at the BU level, with import and export regulations within the region to enhance trade compliance, reduce risk, increase responsiveness to issues and opportunities, and support effective operational aspects of international trade.

This role reports into Manager GTS AUT BU India and is a key member of the Global Trade Services (GTS) team. As part of GTS team, the India GTS AUT Import/Export Analyst will join a group of professionals who are passionate about ensuring the future growth of the business by providing business solutions for compliance with global trade laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Trade Compliance Activities in the BU:

  • Execute trade operations and work on day-to-day activities related to trade compliance in India which includes coordination and execution of activities under FTWZ, DTA, EOU, and other special customs procedures for the two factories in Pune to ensure TE’s compliance with import/export regulations.

  • Maintain trade operations and compliance activities in accordance with TE policies, procedures, and controls, in coordination with stakeholders at the Pune plants.

  • Act as a point of contact for the AUT BU stakeholders at the Pune plants on trade-related matters.

  • Maintain BU plant level Key performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting to ensure efficiency of the operations.

  • Ensure coordination and collaboration within the GTS AUT India Team for effective execution of the trade activities.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal functions, to encourage awareness of the trade compliance issues, pro-actively identify and notify trade risks and deviations and ensure trade compliance controls.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Success in the role requires good analytical and problem-solving skills, good oral and written communication skills, and ability to work in coordination with internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance in all trade related activities.

In addition, a successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Supply chain, logistics, Internation Business or related field)

  • 3+ years of experience in Import/Export focusing primarily on Trade Compliance documentation and processes/procedures under various Trade Promotion schemes (E.g. EOU, FTWZ, MOOWR, SEZ, etc.)

  • Preferred: 2+ years’ experience in supporting trade functions within an Industrial, communications, transportation, or similar business. Also, has experience in handling multiple activities on import/export for a high number of transactions.

  • Preferred: Functional knowledge of Import and export regulations and familiarity with customs procedures in India.

  • Proven ability to build trust and work with a variety of business groups and functions in dynamic global organization.

  • Travel may be necessary in fulfillment of responsibilities.
