Professional Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: The Opportunity: As the Manger of Volunteer Engagement you will identify opportunities to expand the breadth and depth of volunteer engagement, leading to increases in volunteer efforts, program participation, and greater philanthropic activity. Additionally, you will have significant project management responsibilities as you will be developing and managing an extensive volunteer network aimed at alumni and prospective donor engagement, contributing to and overseeing marketing and communication efforts in support of these programs, and tracking and reporting on data related to program success. You will work extensively with Alumni and Advancement leadership, volunteers, current students and parents, and other internal and external stakeholders, building connections and encouraging ever-deepening engagement with the University. In this role, you will report to the Director of Alumni & Constituent Engagement. This position is eligible for hybrid work Required Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Experience managing and tracking volunteer efforts. • Experience developing and implementing programs and events. • Expert written and oral communication skills, with the ability to listen and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. • Ability to engage and influence people, using tact and diplomacy and maintaining a high level of confidentiality. • Experience developing and formalizing processes and procedures. • Highly developed project management skills. • Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple and varied tasks independently while also working collaboratively. • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and some weekends. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other online tools. • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four_3 and departmental driving standards. • Knowledge of marketing methods and social media best practices, including digital marketing/advertising on multiple platforms. • Mastery of fiscal planning and budget management. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience as a volunteer or volunteer leader. • Experience working in higher education or with in University Advancement, with an Alumni Association or Alumni Relations department. • Experience working for a marketing or events organization. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
