The Opportunity:

 

As the Lab Staff Coordinator for the Complex Social Interactions Lab (CSI), you will support efforts to assist police departments in Washington State in maximizing the utility of their body-worn camera (BWC) programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing the day-to-day activities of the lab, including scheduling and coordinating undergraduate research assistants (40-50 students); responsible for lab-related purchasing, providing budgetary support and processing lab payroll and travel; coordinating logistics for meetings, events, and training sessions; providing administrative support for staff to ensure effective use of resources and adherence to research protocols, ensuring compliance with IRB protocols and CJIS regulations, including managing lab access authorizations. In collaboration with the department chair, CSI Lab PI, and college communication specialist(s), you will serve as the point of contact for inquiries from the media, community organizations, and stakeholders about the lab's research and activities, forwarding to appropriate CAS or WSU personnel.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.

 

Program Specialty: Two years of full-time experience coordinating the work flow of a unit. Including prioritizing, assigning, scheduling, checking work for accuracy, and/or researching problems.

 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree

 

• Experience with fiscal responsibilities such as processing payroll, purchasing, travel, and/or monitoring budgets.

 

• Experience developing and/or maintaining social media platforms and webpages.

 

• Familiarity with WSU's policies and procedures or similar higher education institution.

 

• Experience managing public-facing communications for an organization or institution.

 

• Previous experience in research settings.
