International Programs Global Learning Advisor Available Title(s): 1481-YN_ADMINPRO - Student Services Coordinator/Advisor 1 Business Title: International Programs Global Learning Advisor Employee Type: Admin. Professional Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: The Opportunity: As the International Programs Global Learning Advisor you will be an integral member of the Office of International Programs (IP) and Global Learning (GL) team where you will facilitate educational opportunities for WSU students at home and abroad. In this role, your essential functions may include but are not limited to the following: • Advising students on GL opportunities including education abroad, the global leadership certificate program, and on-campus global competency development opportunities; • Facilitating the initiation, development, and implementation of faculty-led education abroad programming in coordination with WSU colleges, departments, external partners, and programs; • Coordinating pre-departure "while abroad" and returnee activities; • Facilitating GL outreach activities with other IP departments and WSU programs, and provides back up support for all GL functions as needed; and • Collaborating with other IP staff and WSU colleges, departments, and individual faculty members to achieve global and cultural competencies. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Experience in higher education administration, teaching, or student services. • Demonstrated leadership skills or experience. • Public speaking experience. • Demonstrated proficiency and skill using Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint. • Demonstrated knowledge with web-based search tools and applications. • Willingness and ability to work outside of regular business hours of operation, including during evenings and on weekends as necessary. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's Degree in a related field. • Demonstrated knowledge of international education and advising. • Demonstrated experience with faculty-led program development, implementation, and assessment. • Demonstrated experience that includes international work or travel or education abroad. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
