Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
Direct and oversee administrative functions related to personnel recruitment, retention and payroll processes for the departments of Veterinary Clinical Sciences and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (Unit). Responsible for providing leadership in all aspects of personnel administration, including but not limited to planning and assessing recruitment and retention efforts, managing retention and training initiatives, managing payroll functions and assisting with all personnel matters within the Unit. Works with departmental leadership and supervisors to ensure personnel policies and processes are followed and that organizational goals are met. Represents the university to internal and external constituents and acts as a resource to employees in matters related to personnel.
Supervises 2.0 FTE Fiscal Specialist 2 positions.
Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Demonstration of strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Demonstrated ability to function positively, under pressure in a fast-paced professional environment, while managing interruptions, meeting deadlines and providing high quality service to all constituents
• Demonstrated effective writing and proofreading skills.
• ?Proficiency using MS Office applications.
• Experience with a strong customer service orientation.
• Demonstrated ability to confidently interact and communicate at all levels of the Unit.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in higher education or similar complex organization.
• Experience working with WSU policies, procedures, and systems.
• Experience working with Workday or similar personnel management information system.

Monthly Salary:
$4,500 - $6,000 | Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically
