General Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

The Budget & Forecast Manager is responsible for providing analytical and financial support to internal business segments and preparing and monitoring the annual budget. The manager utilizes skills and expertise to assist with planning and developing business strategies, forecasting, and performance measurement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Lead the preparation of monthly profitability reports by Line of Business (LOB) in which significant variances are analyzed and discussed with respective Product/Country Managers to understand the profitability of each LOB in comparison to Budget, Prior Year, Quarter, etc.
•Gain a deep understanding of each Line of Business to provide meaningful analysis and pinpoint what initiatives make sense vs. other alternatives that should be disregarded.
•Support Product/Country Managers' initiatives, including but not limited to cost-saving projects, commercial initiatives, capacity and headcount planning, among others.
•Evaluate each LOB periodically to determine the most appropriate Revenue and Cost drivers and whether changes should be made to the monthly reports.
•Evaluate CAPEX business cases as they relate to mathematical accuracy, compliance with profitability thresholds, and overall analysis as to the reasonableness of assumptions to help determine whether CAPEX investment is feasible.
•Evaluate CAPEX projects with internal working hours to determine whether they comply with GAAP for capitalizing such hours.
•Led the preparation of monthly forecasts by obtaining adjustments from the different business units and adjusting the plan throughout the year's end.
•Provide insight into risks and opportunities for LOBs.
•Understand adjustments to forecast by discussing adjustments with the corresponding business unit to raise any significant deviation from the plan and be able to explain such variances.
•Responsible for the annual budget and analysis for reasonableness compared to the previous year.
•Provide a monthly explanation of variances vs. budget.
•Supervise department functions such as developing, maintaining, and analyzing budgets and explain periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
•Ensures all required reporting occurs as stipulated by internal policies or external requirements.
•Set expectations and goals for analysts in the group and clear roles and responsibilities.
•Prepare monthly and quarterly presentations detailing specific KPIs.
•Ensures the staff executes all key controls, including but not limited to SOX controls within established procedures and the approved delegation of authority and authorized limits.
•Respond to and review all escalations or deviations that may be brought to their attention.
•Reports any exceptions to established internal controls and documents any employee violations of procedures.
 

 

Performs duties through methods and actions that are consistently ethical and in total compliance with the laws, applicable regulations, Code of Ethics, corporate policies and guidelines and rules of conduct. Completes corporate trainings and certifications intended for the detection and prevention of money laundering related activities and fraud, insider training and conflict of interest policies and procedures, as applicable.

 

Education and Experience Required

•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
•Advanced Degree or CPA certification is preferred.
•Must possess seven (7) years of progressive experience in a diversified corporation's budget & planning area, preferably with exposure to a regional function.
•Knowledge of CAPEX, forecasting, and budgetary tools/models to determine the feasibility of projects and make recommendations to management based on findings.
 

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

•Financial Analysis and Modeling: This includes understanding financial statements, variance analysis, trend analysis, and building complex financial models to forecast future performance accurately.
•Budgeting and Forecasting Techniques: This includes zero-based budgeting, rolling forecasts, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and other methodologies to develop accurate and actionable financial plans.
•Data Management and Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze financial data effectively. Should be proficient in using spreadsheet software like Excel or specialized financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tools to handle large datasets and derive meaningful insights.
•Risk Management: This involves identifying potential risks to the financial plan, assessing their impact, and implementing strategies to minimize adverse effects on the organization's performance.
•Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to convey financial insights effectively to stakeholders across the organization; this includes presenting complex financial information clearly and understandably, collaborating with department heads to develop budgets, and providing guidance on financial goals and performance metrics.
•Leadership: Strong leadership skills for managing a tax team, setting priorities, and ensuring the team's success.
•Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills in interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions. Must be able to analyze complex financial information, such as revenue projections, cost structures, and market trends, to develop accurate forecasts and budget plans. Analytical skills also involve identifying opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and operational improvements based on data-driven insights. Additionally, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for addressing challenges and adapting strategies in response to changing economic conditions or business circumstances.
•Bilingual: Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English.
•Must stay updated on regulatory requirements, industry trends, technological, financial planning, and analysis advancements.
•Intercultural Skills: This role requires comprehending and adapting to different cultural situations and perspectives, being receptive to foreign languages, being open to diverse ideas, and being self-aware of one's own cultural biases, assumptions, and communication styles.

Additional Information

Monday to Friday from 9:00AM to 6:00PM 

Available to work extended hours, weekends and/or holidays as needed and the availability to travel as required supporting projects in the region.
