Maintenance Technician About the Job Maintenance Mechanic - Job Description

Purpose:

Maintains operation of machinery by troubleshooting and repairing using mechanical, electric, and electronic abilities with troubleshooting skills.

Job Duties:

Strong troubleshooting skills and able to work by yourself. Daily preventive maintenance of fork lifts. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on, AC/DC motors, AC/DC drives, PLC's pneumatics and hydraulics troubleshooting malfunctions. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Repairs machinery and equipment through the use of the appropriate methods; welding, replacement of parts, trouble shooting and diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and issues. . Maintains equipment, parts and supply inventories by checking stock and communicating shortages to manager. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment, parts and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations; uses pressure wash machines, sweeping, cleaning up debris, arranging work areas, gathering tools, returning and restocking tools in their proper storage area; maintaining hand tools, power tools, and welders. Follow all safety policies and procedures.. Documents all repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections. All other assigned duties.

Qualifications: High School education or equivalent. Prefer 2 years in industrial maintenance. Basic knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical (high and low voltage), PLC's, Welding, Cutting, Fabrication and General Mechanics. Able to walk and stand up to 8 hours per day. Kneel and squat as job required. Must be able to lift 40 - 50 lbs. repetitively. Knowledge of forklift operations. Ability to record data for maintenance records. Ability to work with others in all phases of manufacturing.
