POSITION: Seasonal Swim Lesson Instructor

DUTIES: * Instructs scheduled learn-to-swim classes and ensures all classes begin and end on time. * Instructs swimmers on effective learn-to-swim methods. * Explains proper techniques and demonstrates skill. * Ensures that safety standards and policies are adhered to. * Provides adequate warm-up, stretching, and cool down. * Prepares appropriate equipment and handouts as needed for each class. * Keeps management informed of any significant problems or issues. * Performs related duties as required. * May perform the duties of similar classifications of an equal or lower pay grade.

REQUIREMENTS: * Applicants must be 16 years of age or older at time of appointment. * A valid Colorado Driver's License or State ID at time of employment. * Certified instructor with Starfish Aquatic institute (SAI) or other learn-to-swim program. * Must complete Starfish Aquatic Institute (SAI) certification prior to first day of class instruction (provided by the City).

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: * Customer service principles and practices * Be professional and motivate class participants. * Listen, communicate, and work effectively with a diverse group of people. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the public.

PREFERRED SKILLS: * All swimming strokes (preferred) * Effectively swim all strokes (preferred)

WAGE: $15.32 - $15.85 hourly

SHIFTS: * Temporary/Seasonal * Part-time
