Inspect, test, and correct deficiencies on a variety of fire protection systems. Review engineering plans and specifications for new construction, alteration, and extension of existing structures. Develop and maintain a variety of documentation such as fire prevention inspection schedules and facilities jackets on assigned facilities. Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing fire inspections by detecting and eliminating potential fire hazards; 2) Developing and implementing training in fire protection and prevention; AND 3) Reviewing plans for construction and ensuring compliance with fire prevention regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement above, applicants must also possess: Firefighter II, Driver/Operator Pumper, Fire Inspector II AND Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B), Basic Life Support Certification Card indicating a future expiration date.
