Provo City is hiring a part-time Media Services Specialist to work at the ice arena to inform the community of the awesome programs being offered at the Peaks Ice Arena.

This is part-time work assisting in marketing campaigns and strategies that promote performances, activities, programs, and exhibits at the Peaks Ice Arena. Responsible, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply.

What is the compensation?

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour (depending on experience)

What will I do?

  • Content creation for social media and other advertising.

  • Event planning and management.

  • Agency promotion for Peaks Ice Arena.

  • Public communication and marketing.

  • Facility management and improvement.

  • Generate, edit, publish, and share daily content (original text, images, video) that build meaningful connections and encourage community members to take action.

  • Create initiatives for patrons and employees.

What do I need to apply?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • At least 1 year of experience in Public Relations, Communications, Recreation Management, or a related field.

  • Valid, lawful driver's license is required at time of appointment.

What is the schedule?

This position is 10-20 hours a week, Monday - Saturday. Some evenings required. Flexible schedule.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

This work requires: light to medium lifting; agility to perform the work; regularly operating equipment for extended periods; and exposure to adverse weather conditions, hazardous conditions, odors, dust, noise, and heavy traffic. May involve stressful circumstances, including interactions with the public in negative situations.

What is the selection process?

This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days). Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
