Job Summary:

We are seeking an individual enrolled as a full-time college or university student to join our seasoned HR Analytics team for a 10-week internship during the summer of 2025. As an HR Business Intelligence Developer Intern, you will leverage your technical background to assist in and contribute towards the development of business intelligence solutions in a human resources context. Our internship program will offer you hands-on project experience in both an independent and collaborative capacity, networking opportunities with fellow interns and full-time professionals, as well as professional development.

Project Opportunities:

• Comprehensive Data Pipeline and Workflow Automation

• Context: As a data analytics team we work closely with several data streams, each of which has their own ELT workflow requiring daily processing. Basic automation of these processes has been achieved, however there is significant room for improvement and further development.

• Skills Developed During Project:

• Python (or Rust) Programming

• Windows PowerShell Scripting

• SQL Scripting

• Conceptualize the architecture of and implement workflow dependencies and task queuing

• Design and implement a succinct error reporting system with automatic correction

• In-House Machine Learning Application

• Context: We have developed a machine learning algorithm that seeks to match interns to future roles at Textron and provide recommendations of who to hire to recruiters and university relations personnel. After a successful deployment for the 2024 internship program, we are looking to expand its capabilities into other talent sourcing and placement areas. There will be a need for assistance in basic development, testing and automation, as well as codebase clean-up and refactoring.

• Skills Developed During Project:

• C (or Python) Programming

• Git

• Automating build and test operation

• Independent Research and Development Project.

• We are comfortable with supporting the independent development of original projects that tackle issues you can identify and articulate as you develop familiarity with our systems and processes.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled full-time pursing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, STEM, or equivalent.

• Working knowledge of interpreted (Python or R) and compiled languages (C/C or Rust).

• Coursework covering the following topics: Algorithms, Operating Systems, Machine Learning for Data Science, or System Level Programming.
