Description & RequirementsWe are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Technical Leader with in-depth expertise in creating back-end integration applications using AWS Serverless technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding developers in designing, developing, and deploying scalable integration solutions. Your strong technical background and leadership skills will be crucial in driving the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide strategic direction and guidance to the software engineers within the IT Applications development team in support of application design, software development and software integration.- Define the software engineering strategy and supporting goals for the MAXIMUS software engineering practice.- Define the key priorities in pursuit of the vision and goals associated with the software engineering practice.- Communicate strategic direction for the software engineering practice to MAXIMUS IT and Business Operations.- Ensure software engineering staff are following best practices around application design, software development and software integration throughout the system development lifecycle.- Incorporate MAXIMUS standard practices and actively participate in process improvement activities across the enterprise.- Provide leadership and direction to staff for completeness of application design, software engineering and software integration.- Work toward the improvement of the software life cycle time by increasing the quality of requirements and reducing the amount of time spent in the application design, development and integration phases.- Work with other MAXIMUS IT Application leaders to coordinate and improve SDLC standard practices.- Manage the software engineering staff as a shared service to support multiple projects.- Ensure that the software engineers have the appropriate tools, skills and training to support the project needs.- Manage geographically distributed staff to maximize staff utilization.- Manage staff development to maximize benefits to employees and MAXIMUS.- Work closely with Delivery Managers and Product Managers to support product delivery, enhancements and support.- Drive all aspects of engineering recruiting including, but not limited to, attracting great talent and retaining a highly skilled, proficient engineering team.- Increase the use of cross geographic teams to increase knowledge transfer and reduce risks for MAXIMUS.1. Guide a team of developers (Onshore/Offshore) and contribute to all phases of implementation starting from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.2. Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify/discover requirements.3. Perform technical analysis and identify solution components.4. Take ownership of one or more Maximus Digital applications and become the go-to subject matter expert of these applications.5. Create/review technical stories, reviews work products, provide guidance and mentorship to the development team, and ensure adherence to best practices and standards.6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, QA engineers, and designers, to ensure successful delivery and alignment with business requirements.7. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Perform POCs and propose innovative solutions to solve business problems.8. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner, providing support and guidance to the team.9. Define and enforce development methodologies, coding standards, and quality assurance processes.10. Create solution architecture diagrams and make presentation to the management.11. Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in multi-tier enterprise application design, development and implementation using Open source and AWS technologies involving multiple systems integrations.2. Hands-on experience and deep understanding of creating secure asynchronous event driven applications using AWS serverless technologies - API Gateway, AWS Lambda, Event Bridge, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, Graph API, DynamoDB, and fundamental concepts of AWS IAM roles, policies.3. Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD workflow including Github/AWS CodeCommit, CodeDeploy.4. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to hire and guide a team of developers.5. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with attention to detail.6. Experience working with and leading a distributed team onshore/offshore.7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.8. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.9. AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or AWS Certified Developer - Associate (preferred).10. Experience working with AI/ML technologies like Textract, Bedrock is a big plus, not required.11. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
