Overview

SRI International is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Engineer to join the Over Water Impact (OWIL) group. OWIL is developing a system to configure, command, monitor, and utilize sensors mounted on unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) to analyze the accuracy of DoD test weapons.

This is an on-site position in Princeton, NJ.

Responsibilities
    Working with a small team to develop solutions that allow commercial components to collect data.
  • Specifically, design/layout, and integration of these components on/in the USV, weight/load balancing, and water resistance.
  • Integrating hardware components with electrical designs and software for mission-focused work on DoD test events.
  • Efficient layout of electronic components in/on a USV to optimize size, weight, and power (SWaP).
  • Design/build mounts and masts for attaching components.
  • Working with electrical and software engineers to develop a system solution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering with 3-7 years of practical experience.
  • Due to government regulations, must be a US Citizen
  • Knowledge/experience with: SolidWorks, CAD, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office tools, machining, 3D printing.
  • Must have experience with "hands on" integration and mechanical design.

The salary range is: $98,631.00-$146,660.00. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
