Summary:

The Associate Director will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of a comprehensive hospital patient support program for an oral retail product indicated for schizophrenia. This role will be critical in ensuring that patients have access to their medication and receive the support they need throughout their treatment journey.

In addition, this individual will execute with HUB vendors responsible for our reimbursement and affordability programs, in collaboration with our program managers, Brand teams and agency partners.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the day-to-day interactions that support patient access to medications and treatment.

This person will be responsible for the management of the program and will report directly to the Director, Patient Access & Support Services. This individual will be responsible for creating a culture of continuous learning where our team members are challenged and engaged with the broader matrix teams. The Associate Director will work with our Brand, Customer Experience, and Finance teams to manage relevant market access budgets and ensure appropriate allocation of budget against priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Access and Support Program Development, Implementation, & Management:

  • Lead the strategic design and development of a hospital patient support program tailored for schizophrenia patients.

  • Develop and/or implement resources to support the program, including educational materials, adherence support, and financial assistance options.

  • Support comprehensive market research to identify the needs and challenges faced by schizophrenia patients in hospital settings.

  • Utilize insights from market research to construct a patient support program tailored to the specific needs and gaps in schizophrenia care.

  • Develop and implement strategies to overcome barriers to access, including insurance coverage and prior authorization challenges.

  • Ensure patients receive timely and effective support throughout their treatment journey, from initiation to adherence.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including both internal and external partners.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, medical affairs, compliance, etc.) to ensure the program aligns with company objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct training sessions and produce resources for field matrix partners to educate to program.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Develop, monitor and analyze program performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of the support program.

  • Provide regular reports to senior management on program outcomes and patient access trends.

  • Leverage data-driven approaches for identifying improvement areas and implementing necessary changes for enhanced program effectiveness.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Assurance:

  • Ensure all patient support activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to patient support services

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and / or healthcare industry experience including experience with reimbursement of specialty pharmacy products, marketing, provider and / or managed care is required

  • HUB experience required

  • Neuropsychiatry experience preferred

  • Hospital experience preferred

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Proven ability to create and maintain program documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and training materials

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and define problems with a disciplined approach to solving

  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to create relationships across teams

  • Proven ability to develop effective reporting and analytics to measure program performance, reimbursement and access, patient adherence to therapy and pharmacy performance

  • Strong financial acumen and analytic skills

  • Strong writing and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow up and anticipate problems

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline driven, entrepreneurial environment

  • Proven ability to influence across functions to gain consensus on solutions

  • Must be adaptable to change and working in a fluid environment
