Summary

The purpose of Electrician is to perform tasks as assigned by maintenance manager, supervisors and Senior Electricians as well as, to ensure the proper operation of plant equipment in a safe productive manner in order to satisfy and serve our customers’ needs and meet their standards.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Has the ability to work independently and with others to carry out assigned tasks efficiently.

• Can work overtime if needed and respond to emergency calls.

• Has the ability to use wiring Schematics and trouble shoot electrical problems in AC and DC circuits, Motor Controls etc.

• Has knowledge of the National Electrical Code and using it in installing wiring, conduit, and Motor controls.

• Performs Calibrations of Industrial Instrumentations and Industrial Controls.

• Adheres to all safety requirements including preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent.

Electrical license

Experience Requirements

Electrical license required with two years or more work experience.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Exposure to temperatures ranging from 40 – 50 degrees Fahrenheit, noise levels ranging from 85 - 88 dB, exposure to iodine at hand wash station, light intensity above 50' candles, Ability to lift 80 lbs., Ability to move throughout the department . Must be able to move throughout assigned areas of responsibility carrying required equipment and tools to perform trouble shooting procedures, repairs and preventative maintenance. Must be able to reach vertical heights up to 150' to perform repairs, preventative maintenance and monitor equipment both open and in confined spaces. Must be able to work outside in all seasonal weather, stand for 8 to 14 hours. Exposure to air born dust, chemicals, such as hexane, caustic sode, butanone, ethanol and aluminum chloride. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders.
