Job Summary: The TANF Asset Builder is responsible for providing financial literacy education to clients, covering topics such as budgeting, savings, credit management, and debt reduction. The role involves assessing client's needs, providing support and resources, ensuring compliance with program requirements, and working collaboratively with various stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Connect clients with community resources and services including employment opportunities, resume development and Individual Development Accounts (IDAs), savings programs, and tax preparation. 
  • Offer personalized coaching to help clients set realistic financial goals and develop action plans to achieve them. 
  • Collaborate with other organizations to coordinate asset building classes.
  • Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster supportive relationships between participants and volunteer Allies who can provide encouragement and support.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and interactions to build trust and mutual support among Circle participants. 
  • Assist in recruiting potential volunteers and Circle participants

The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the VITA program, which provides free tax assistance to low- to-moderate-income individuals and families. The Coordinator will recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, ensure compliance with IRS regulations, and oversee the delivery of high-quality tax preparation services. This role involves significant interaction with community members, volunteers, and partner organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the VITA program strategy, goals, and objectives.
  • Oversee operations of the VITA site, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service.
  • Supervise volunteers ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance.
  • Ensure Compliance - all procedures comply with IRS standards and guidelines.
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of VITA sites.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and respect in all interactions with clients and team members.
  • Promote VITA to raise awareness in Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan County.
  • Distribute flyers, posters, and other promotional materials in Carbon , Emery, Grand and San Juan County.
