Job Description Summary
As an Externals Model Line Mechanic you will be required to work to specified Manual limits and required tolerances. In this role you will be required to work as part of a team in the task of processing Externals materials i.e., Clean, Inspect, Repair, Accumulation and Presentation. Additionally, the role requires motivated people for supporting and continuing to drive improvements within the model line.

Essential Responsibilities
Each role will be working within a team and therefore the ability to work well with others is essential
The role involves working to specified Manuals and Engineering instructions
Good hand skills through previous experience
Practical or working knowledge of calibrated measuring equipment
Role involves a rotating three shift pattern consisting of Nightshift/Backshift/Dayshift
Identifying and implementing process improvements. As a member of the Externals Model Line Cell, you will be trained in various lean principles such as Takt, Flow and Linkage and 5S along with problem solving methodology
Identify and hold responsibility for Environmental Health & Safety and Quality issues
Participation in Daily Shop Management
Qualifications/Requirements
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship or Mechanical apprenticeship with relevant industry experience
Desirable
Good understanding and working knowledge of computer based applications
Excellent communication skills, the ability to get on with colleagues and communicate priorities as required
Computer literate
Demonstrate their ability to work as an effective team player, taking ownership and accountability for EHS standards and quality
Demonstrate personal drive and motivation to identify and implement process improvement
Demonstrate the ability to work from technical drawings/manuals
Demonstrate good manual dexterity
A desire to learn new skills and demonstrate flexibility within the model line
