Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Summary:

The Lead-Security Officer provides day to day support of all security services at Northern Light AR Gould Hospital. The individual is responsible for the development, mentorship and execution of orientation and ongoing annual competency and performance evaluations specific to their area of expertise. The individual coordinates daily/weekly schedules and is involved in safety programs. In addition, the individual collaborates with clinic leadership and provides input on workflow changes, process improvement, and in the delivery of excellent patient care. The individual must demonstrate exceptional problem solving and customer service skills, and work to create a positive work environment. The individual must also partner with the leadership team to ensure fiscal responsibilities. The Lead is first and foremost an expert security Officer. S/he must be adequately prepared by experience and training to coach, develop, educate, and mentor the team.

Lead-Security Officer must stay up to date on regulatory requirements associated with the service, including serving as an instructor as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and development of Officers, including orientation, training & education, competency development and assessment, assistance with interviews, coaching and discipline, evaluations, scheduling, assisting with timecards, and documentation.

  • Assists with coverage of the department as needed for surges; performs skills required of the front-line security staff expertly.

  • Develops, reviews, implements policies, workflows, and procedures for the department.

  • Assists with/plans performance improvement activities, including data collection, audits, research, and reporting.

  • Delegates/ assists with implementation of the budget and supply management for the department.

  • Assures the department meets regulatory and safety requirements, including maintaining readiness for surveys and education and training of new Officers and provides MOAB training as requested.

Other Information:

  • 1 to 3 years of military, law enforcement, security experience.

  • Prior full time law enforcement experience preferred.

  • Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) instructor preferred or expected to be certified within 6 months of hire.

  • Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate (ALICE) Instructor preferred or expected to be certified within 12 months of hire.
