Fann Contracting, Inc in Prescott, AZ is seeking an experiencedTraffic Control Supervisorfor projects throughout the state (travel within Arizona is required). The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the projects traffic control plan, operations, lane closures, road closures, construction zone signing and devices per the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). All activities must be in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations. Base pay depends upon skills and experience but will typically range from \$22.40 to \$31.50 per hour. Travel pay (subsistence) of \$70 to \$80 per day will also be available for most assignments. Wages with overtime and travel pay can range between \$29.40 to \$46.03 per hour.

Candidates should have the following:

  • Current certification as a Traffic Control Supervisor through CCA or ATSSA and be able to maintain certification. Traffic Flagger certificate would be a plus.
  • Ability to read construction traffic control plans and perform all related paperwork for compliance.
  • Must have a clean driving record with no DUI or other significant citations within the previous 4 years.
  • Supervise a crew of flaggers to ensure compliance with job safety and company policies.
  • Proven skills in the following: leadership and management of people, communication (verbal and written), planning, and organization.
  • Ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity for the TC Team.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, jog, climb, kneel, squat, bend at the waist, grasp and hold various tools and objects with both hands for extended periods of time.
  • Must be punctualfor work as traffic control crews are typically the first on the job and the last to leave.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities in coordination with daily construction activities and to be efficient with anticipating TC changes as the project progresses.
  • Place, remove, and repair temporary and permanent traffic control devices.
  • Coordinates and moves traffic control flaggers in construction areas.
  • Assures bathroom breaks for TC flaggers/pilot car drivers
  • Inspect traffic control devices to ensure functionality, placement, and safety compliance.
  • Traffic control device inventory, handling and storage, load and unload trucks, haul and lift heavy materials including sandbags, heavy windjammer signs, etc.
  • Effectively and immediately communicate problems or concerns to the Foreman, Project Supervisor, or Safety Manager.
  • Must also interact professionally with project inspectors, owners, and/or their representatives.
  • May operate a variety of vehicles, use hand and power tools and practice safe lifting daily.
  • Attach and tow message and arrow boards safely and to get them set at required locations on the project.
  • CDL Medical Card (not a CDL) for driving vehicles over 10,000 GVW is required (or you should have the ability to obtain one within the first 30 days of employment).
  • Statewide travel is required for this position (travel pay of up to \$80 per day may be available).
