Fann Contracting is looking for a skilled Mobil Heavy Equipment Mechanic familiar with working on both Caterpillar & John Deere equipment.

The Mobile Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing Heavy Civil Construction Equipment on projects throughout Arizona. Weekly travel is required for this position. Candidates should have a clean motor vehicle record, and a valid Arizona drivers license preferably a Class B CDL. Do you have experience in the following?

  • Diesel engine & transmission repair
  • Welding, cutting and braising
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Electrical diagnostics
  • Air-conditioning
  • Drive train repair & lubrication
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Remote location field work

Essential Functions:

  • Diagnoses problems and performs mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy civil construction equipment (including, but not limited to, loaders, scrapers, backhoes, motor graders, excavators and service trucks).
  • Inspect and document condition of equipment for items needing repair or service.
  • Replaces or repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
  • Lubricates moving parts and operates repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Performs tasks per preventative maintenance checklist.
  • Drives a company provided mechanics field service vehicle.
  • Safety conscious and responds to inquiries promptly; follows through to ensure the situation is taken care of correctly.
  • This position is a drug free, safety-sensitive role which involves some aspect of a heightened danger requiring your full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute the job
