Job Summary To be responsible for proper operations of the extrusion process; troubleshoot, identify, and resolve processing issues while maintaining high production rates and decreasing scrap rates. Works as a liaison on all process and training issues between engineers and production. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshoot problems in the blending area, on the extrusion lines Assist extruder operators in solving processing issues, recommends parameter changes when extruded profiles are out of specification. Acts as a liaison between production and Process Engineers. Performs profile and tooling changeovers Optimize production rates and assist with start-ups, shutdowns and training of operators Maintains various training manuals, records and performs other duties as required. Understands the effects of changes in material, temperature and die alterations Knows how to read run sheets and other process documentation Perform other tasks as requested by management Qualifications 3 years of supervisor or lead operator, related work experience and / or proven performance. Demonstrate ability in basic mathematical computations and to accurately use a tape measure. Demonstrate ability to use and operate hand tools and to perform routine maintenance on molders and brush machines. Ability to stand on concrete surfaces for up to three hours without a break and twelve hours with breaks, lift weights up to 100 pounds at shoulder level. Demonstrate ability to give, comprehend, follow written and oral instructions, and effectively communicate with fellow employees.
