We are One Engineering System (1ES) - a part of the Developer Division in Microsoft's Cloud and Application Infrastructure (C+AI) division.

Software engineering practices and tools are always vulnerable to security and legal risks. In this position, you would help us enable engineers to develop more secure and compliant products without slowing down. These solutions impact all of Microsoft and Microsoft's solutions impact the world. What we do has never been more important.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to work with us to develop the next generation of compliance tools and lead the 1ES Compliance Tooling team. This position is located in Prague, Czech Republic.

Compliance tooling is critical for ensuring that all requirements around security, privacy, accessibility and other compliance areas, are addressed as we build products that our customers can trust.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and validate scalable, high availability services.

  • Collaborate with teammates in various roles to plan and execute on key deliverables.

  • Organize, maintain and participate in live site on-call rotation

  • Work in a culture of continuous improvement, adaptation, reflection and growth.

  • Build and maintain warm and productive working relationships with internal Microsoft teams.

You will help deliver and contribute to:

  • A focus on the customers and last mile delivery.

  • Services and applications to enable the best developer services experiences possible.

  • The culture of collaboration.

  • A shared understanding of TDD and agile development practices.

  • A focus on cloud native development.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Senior-level professional experience developing, and shipping high quality software and design experience, using one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: C#, Java, C/C++, Rust, Python

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, Software Engineering

  • or a related field or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure/AWS/GCP or other similar Cloud Platforms

  • Experience with SQL-like querying languages

  • Experience with CI/CD solutions

  • Experience developing distributed systems

  • Experience with multi-threaded programming

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Track record of forming, mentoring and growing strong engineering teams

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
