About the team (Oracle Industries Innovation Lab)

Oracle Industries Innovation Lab (https://www.oracle.com/industries/utilities/innovation-lab.html)  (Oracle IIL) is a hands-on space that allows Oracle Utilities, Oracle Construction and Engineering, and Oracle Communications to inspire, collaborate, innovate, and explore new ideas with customers. This involves working closely with product & delivery teams to bring new concepts, prototypes & ideas to life and co-innovating with our partners & customers.

We’re a small team with large and high-profile responsibilities. We are passionate about trying out new ideas, tinkering with new products and solutions, and taking on new challenges. About the job

We are seeking an experienced software engineer that has a perfect blend of deep hands-on technical experience and trouble shooting skills along with architect style strategic vision to lead a matrixed team through a complex project. You will play a key role in building and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions, leveraging OCI services such as OCI AI, OCI Gen AI, OCI Autonomous Database, etc. You will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and supporting our cloud environment, while ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

Ideal candidate will have a strong appetite to learn new technology, eagerness to tinker with new tools, a curious mind to troubleshoot and fix things that are broken, and ability to foster collaboration across remote teams.

What you’ll make happen

• Design and develop AI solutions using Oracle Cloud services

• Get up to speed on Oracle Utilities products, across all solution areas Customer, Asset & Operations technology.

• Establish relationships with product management, engineering, support, presales and marketing teams.

• Learn new things!  We have a CUTTING EDGE technical stack and you will work with AI services like vision/speech/language, with AR/VR, autonomous robots, new customer interfaces and lot more.

• Troubleshoot and collaborate with support and engineering teams to resolve issues.

• Lead high-visibility hands-on projects from concept through delivery.

• Be accountable and responsible for leading the project to completion by wearing multiple hats.

• Work closely with enablement teams to train presales on any new demos created.

   

Required skills

• 3+ years of experience developing full-stack applications

• Proficiency using Python and JavaScript

• Experience with SQL databases and strong skills in writing efficient SQL queries

• Familiarity with Cloud Engineering fundamentals, understanding of cloud infrastructure: VMs, containers, serverless computing, Kubernetes, etc.

• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts.

• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

• Basic knowledge of Linux systems administration (file systems, basic networking, shell scripting).

Nice To Have

• Experience with Python frameworks – like Flask

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks, ReactJs, Angular is a plus

• Basic DevOps skills including experience with CI/CD, Docker, and container orchestration, automation, network configuration

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in a cloud or Linux environment.

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, or similar
