Medtronic Directory and Privileged Account Analyst in Prague, Czech Republic

The Directory Services Administrator is responsible for the overall administration, management, and support of the company's directory services infrastructure. This position functions as part of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) delivery team, responsible for operational fitness of the system(s) through support, monitoring and response, and system lifecycle management directory services administration, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining and improving the directory services environment and includes ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of Active Directory (AD), Entra ID, LDAP, and related directory services technologies. For this role, you are required to work from Prague office 2 days a week, the rest is work from home. Medtronic does not cover the cost of relocation to Prague, Czech Republic.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Administer and manage the company's Active Directory (AD) and Entra ID environments.

  • Implement and manage Group Policies (GPOs) to ensure compliance and security.

  • Ensure system availability, capacity, and performance for IAM technologies, including ownership for logging, monitoring, and alerting standards, processes, and systems

  • Plan and manage system upgrade and patching projects, in collaboration with local and offshore teams, and platform subject matter experts (SMEs).

  • Communicate with vendors as needed to understand and research open issues, new versions, or changes

  • Explore and help build automation to enhance end-user experience

  • Ensure directory services adhere to company security policies and best practices.

  • Define and develop policies and procedures for system operations to ensure consistency, reduce rework, and improve quality

  • Monitor and manage access controls, user permissions, and role-based access.

  • Implement and maintain multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO) solutions

  • Provide second and third-level support for directory services-related issues (Provide On-call support , manage support tickets, engage with business teams as need be)

  • Collaborate with the IT helpdesk and other teams to resolve directory services issues promptly

  • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures

  • Perform root cause analysis of directory services outages and implement corrective actions

  • Maintain current, relevant industry knowledge to understand evolutions and advancements in the marketplace which could bring value to the team or the company

  • Propose and implement enhancements to the directory services environment

  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing for directory services

  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate directory services with other applications and systems

  • Participate in projects across the team to deliver new technologies, process improvements, and business value.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree / University degree

  • 2+ years of IT experience with B.A or B.S.

  • 2+ years of IT Security or Identity & Access Management experience with good understanding of principles, policies, and best practices.

  • Experience with support, operations, and management Microsoft Active Directory.

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell etc.) for automation.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform and Windows Server operating systems.

  • Familiarity with ITSM tools (E.g. ServiceNow) and logging and monitoring tools like Splunk.
