$300 Sign On Bonus (External Candidates Only)

Title:Medical Assistant - NHMP Float Team - Region B-Float Differential $ Included! - Part Time, 24 hours per week, 8 hour shifts, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Must have experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician

Must have reliable transportation*

Region B:Will cover medical offices/departments in the following towns: Sharon, Millerton, Lagrangeville, Wappingers Falls, Hopewell, Fishkill.

Summary:To assist Medical Doctors with specific examination and treatment of patients. May include documenting a detailed medical history , measuring vital signs, performing procedures e.g. PPDs, EKGs and other routine diagnostic and laboratory tests. Prepares treatment rooms and patients for treatment, inventories medical supplies, assists with appointment scheduling and data entry of medical test results. Assist with filing and keeping records orderly and up to date. Any other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and monitor appointments; arranges for follow-up appointments. Understands W-C reimbursement; assists in processing of required documentation in a timely manner. Performs medical transcription if needed; faxes reports. Performs procedural and diagnostic coding.

  2. Applies principles of aseptic techniques and infection control. Complies with quality assurance practices. Screens and follows up with patient test results. Assists in education of patients regarding health/safety promotion and disease/injury prevention. Collects and processes specimens. Performs diagnostic tests - e.g. EKG, spirometry, vision, hearing.

  3. Prepares and administers medications and immunizations; maintains records.

  4. Draws blood for lab tests; collects urine samples, etc. Obtain patient history and vital signs; administers medical questionnaires e.g. Respiratory, Hearing, Asbestos. Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.

  5. Prepare patient for examinations, procedures, and treatments. Coordinates patient care information with other health care providers; obtains lab, X-ray, and other test results.

  6. Maintains supply inventory. Performs quality monitoring e.g. medication expiration dates, etc. Maintains and disposes of regulated substances in compliance with government guidelines. Participates in development/maintenance of policies and procedures.

  7. Assists with customer service data collection. Performs group testing's services e.g. hearing screens, vision.

  8. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Other information:

Required:High School diploma/GED. New or experienced graduate of Medical Assistant program, or Nursing Assistant training program, or EMT certification, or 3 years job related experience in a medical office. Basic medicalknowledge and terminology. Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.

Salary Range: $18.28 - $29.51 hourly (Pay per years of relative experience)
