Job Description

Working in a MRO environment, the Structures Technician will disassemble, repair, fabricate parts as necessary, reassemble, install, and document maintenance actions on heavy-lift helicopters, primarily Boeing CH-47 airframes (Model 107, Model 234 firefighting, and heavy lift utility). This role primarily supports full rebuilds and occasionally supports fleet heavy maintenance checks. The technician will review task cards, read and interpret maintenance manuals and blueprints, and use hand tools, power tools, and machine tools to remove, inspect, fabricate replacement parts, repair, reassemble, and document maintenance actions.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, repair, and fabricate parts as necessary.

  • Reassemble, install, and document maintenance actions on heavy-lift helicopters.

  • Primarily support full rebuilds and occasionally support fleet heavy maintenance checks.

  • Review task cards, read and interpret maintenance manuals and blueprints.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and machine tools to remove, inspect, and fabricate replacement parts.

  • Perform frequent removal and installation of standard and blind rivets.

  • Drill, ream, and rivet to close tolerance with a high level of precision.

Essential Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in aircraft sheet metal structures repair.

  • Experience fabricating parts.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and machine tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and blueprints.

  • Experience with riveting, drilling, and reaming to close tolerances.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience repairing structures of CH-47 airframes is preferred.

  • Must be a US Person per client ITAR regulation.

  • Willingness to submit to testing on the first day, including installing fasteners, proper countersink depth, precise drilling, and understanding bend allowance or bend deduction.

  • Open to candidates with 1-2 years of experience if they are reasonably local to northern Oregon or southern Washington.

  • Must be available to start within 4 weeks.

Work Environment

Work in heavy lift helicopter fleet MRO and rebuild hangars. The initial schedule will be 5 days a week (8am - 4:30pm) for several weeks, then transition to a 4-day schedule (6am - 4:30pm), either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Aurora, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $52.00/hr.
