Portland General Electric Sr Financial Analyst in Portland, Oregon

Job Function Summary

Supports the finance organization by providing economic and financial modeling, revenue and power-cost projections for financial planning and ratemaking. Serves as internal consultant on financial matters for the organization specific to its power supply portfolio. Creates financial models of scenarios for future business planning decisions in addition to financial models used directly in determining customer rates under PGE’s tariff schedule 125 (the Annual Power Cost Update).

Key Responsibilities

Financial Models Develops longer-term financial models with complex assumptions or relationships (e.g., models that will receive a high level of scrutiny internally and by regulatory groups); coordinates with other departments to ensure model assumptions/outputs align across the organization

Reporting Develops end-to-end net variable power cost models with complex algorithm and presents to management and internal stakeholders; identifies, designs and implements process improvements of the existing models

Internal Consulting Develops reports documenting complex analyses; may be responsible for preparing annual budgets and/or strategy reports including metrics and measurements

External Interaction Presents analysis and work products to senior management and external stakeholders

Education/Experience/Certifications

Education Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, math or other related field or equivalent experience.

Experience Five or more years in related field is preferred.

Intermediate knowledge of regulated utility operations, revenue requirements, wholesale power market and the basics of power plant and transmission system operation and market fundamentals

Compensation Range:

$87,225.00 - $145,375.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
