What’s the job?

Supervises production personnel daily, focusing on safety, quality, housekeeping, and cost reduction. Ensures plant rules are enforced fairly, holds crew accountable, and maintains open communication. Ensures production meets environmental, health, and safety standards aligned with CertainTeed Roofing’s VMVO.

• Supervises hourly production employees for safe and efficient line operation.

• Observes work to ensure production standards are met & assists in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

• Interprets production specifications to assess in-process acceptability.

• Interacts with Maintenance and Engineering departments.

• Ensures safety procedures are followed, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.

• Must effectively counsel and use progressive discipline for crewmembers as needed.

• Maintain communication with Operations Manager to ensure production requirements are clear.

• Lead meetings on productivity, safety, and daily Standard Work initiatives.

• Prevent hazardous conditions from human error or equipment operations to avoid injury or damage.

• Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.

• Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.

• Participate in investigations to determine causes and corrective actions for incidents and near misses.

• Development, understand and adhere to all JSA and SOP’s

• Conduct weekly SMAT Audits.

• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

What do you bring?

• 3-5+ years of Supervisory/Management experience (manufacturing environment preferred).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Efficient at Excel and other Microsoft Office.

• Associate degree preferred.

• Data entry and SAP experience preferred.

• Experience with UKG timesheets preferred.

• Experience working in a Union environment preferred.
