Description

Jamie Benway with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Flooring/Restoration industry, located in Portland, Oregon. This role will be based in the office and will report to the Accounting Manager. The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties, including month-end close activities.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes

• Manage the preparation and analysis of all financial reports

• Oversee and ensure the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement review and analysis

• Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information

• Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives

• Manage the preparation for the annual audit

• Support budget and forecasting activities

• Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions

• Respond to inquiries from the Accounting Manager regarding financial results and special reporting requests

• Work with the Accounting Manager to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit

• Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

Requirements • Candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant, preferably within a similar industry.

• Advanced knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Experience with Month End Close process is essential.

• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Ability to handle confidential information.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Certification as a Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant will be considered a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

• Proactive attitude with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.

• High level of integrity and professional ethics.
