We’re currently seeking three caregivers (“Personal Assistants”) who will support a man who lives in his own apartment in Westmoreland and experiences developmental disabilities. He is a happy, friendly, and determined person who loves movies, music, and working with his hands. He is eager to work with Personal Assistants who are attentive and respectful.

You will go grocery shopping and run household errands. You will work together on household chores, cooking, and attending medical appointments. He needs assistance with taking medications, managing his diet, and managing his diabetes.

You’ll work one of three schedules:

Schedule 1:

You’ll work 1 shift per week totaling 40 hours: 6pm Friday through 10am Sunday. *You’ll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays.

Schedule 2:

You’ll work 2 shifts per week totaling 40 hours: 4pm Sunday through 12pm Monday & 4pm Thursday through 12pm Friday. *You’ll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays.

Schedule 3:

You’ll work 3 shifts per week totaling 40 hours: 7pm Monday through 9am Tuesday, 8pm Tuesday through 9am Wednesday, and 8pm Wednesday through 9am Thursday. *You’ll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Be able to pass our pre-hiring screenings, including a reference check, a physical with a lifting test of 50lbs, and a criminal history background check.

  • Driving on the job is optional—if choosing to drive for UCP, you must be at least 18 years old, have a current driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle, at least two years of driving experience, auto insurance, and a clean driving record.

  • Experience in the developmental disability field preferred, but not required.

Benefits

  • $18.00 per hour. Annual wage increase based on satisfactory performance.

  • Eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week.

  • Holiday pay (double pay for the first 12 hours of any agency holiday shift that you work).
