Tool & Die Maker needed in Portland, CT right away!

Location: Portland, CT

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team and contribute to designing and building high-precision tools and gages. Are you an experienced Tool & Die Maker ready to advance your career in the Aerospace/Defense industry?

As a Tool & Die Maker, you will play a crucial role in the creation and maintenance of specialized tools and gages. Your expertise will support the production and upkeep of essential aerospace and defense components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tool Design and Fabrication: Develop and construct tools and gages according to detailed specifications.

  • Maintenance and Calibration: Ensure that tools and gages are maintained and calibrated to meet rigorous standards.

  • Production Support: Operate production equipment as needed and provide assistance to maintenance teams with machine setup and realignment.

  • Technical Expertise: Utilize tool drawings, operation sheets, and part prints to guide your work and ensure precision.

  • Equipment Operation: Set up and operate all tool room equipment effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in tool making, with a thorough understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

  • Aerospace Knowledge: Experience with airfoils or aerospace components (or medical tools and components) is preferred.

  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work efficiently within a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm

Employment Type: Full Time – Guaranteed 40 hours per week – Permanent placement

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $19-28/hour, commensurate with experience.
