Responsibilities The Experiential Therapist guides clients through various activities that seek to engage, challenge, and enact change through their area of specialization. Develops and facilitates weekly therapy groups and individual sessions in area of specialization. Supports the program with assessments, crisis management, and other clinical functions as required. Essential Duties: Develop and deliver a comprehensive 12-week therapeutic curriculum in their area of specialization. Facilitate group and individual sessions, in area of specialization, as assigned and as needed. Collaborate with Treatment Team when an experiential modality is an appropriate medium for clients to access and process trauma. Observe and document client reactions, progress, or other outcomes related to the therapy and communicate with resident's treatment team to ensure continuity of care. May conduct assessments or crisis management as needed. Assess milieu needs and adjust therapeutic interventions as needed based on client needs. Collaborate with Clinical Director on program development and scheduling therapeutic services and group activities. Coordinate with Counselor experiential stage outings. Responsible for timely completion of clinical documentation (progress and group notes) according to established standards. Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master's degree in clinical or expressive arts discipline required. Board registered (LMHCA, AMFT, LICSWA) or Psychologic Associate in the state in which services are provided required. Licensed Highly Preferred. Board certified in area of specialization preferred. Experience providing group and individual therapy with adolescents and young adults in residential setting preferred. Newport Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
