KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Commissioning SIMOPS Coordinator to support the multi-billion-dollar Plaquemines project developing a Liquid Natural Gas export facility when fully developed will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. The facility’s location is about 20 miles south of New Orleans. This project is expected to be a multi-phase project spanning two years.

Aligning with KBR’s commitment to sustainability, the 630-acre site located on the Mississippi River provides deep-water access without the need for dredging, allowing for an expedited environmentally friendly development process.

This position is contingent upon having a current/valid TWIC card or having the ability to renew or obtain a TWIC card. The TWIC card must be kept current and maintained through employment.

The Commissioning SIMOPS Coordinator will review, revise, and implement all SIMOPS site specific documents prior to site mobilization. This position operates under the direction & authority of the CSO HSE/SIMOPS Manager to communicate all potential work tasks, to prevent conflicts in the form of unsafe conditions between all groups working in the facility.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Responsibilities:

  • Procure and track all necessary equipment for LOTO and PTW

  • Including but not limited to managing compliance with company's objectives, requirements, priorities, policies, procedures, standards, rules, regulations, and guidelines set forth by project management

  • Monitor the SPOC(s) (Single Point of Contact) to ensure verification of workplace controls are in place and being utilized correctly

  • Planning, developing, and conducting individual and group training for SIMOPS/PTW/LOTO

  • Track & manage Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) and action item closure

  • Liaise and coordinate with staff and 3rd Party Contractors prior to starting 1st time SIMOPS activities

  • Schedule, facilitate and attend daily SIMOPS meetings, including weather forecast. Review the days newly submitted PTWs, providing clear communication of the PTW and activities planned for the next 24hrs

  • Proactively work with Construction to anticipate Mechanically Complete (MCd) systems and Notice of Energization (NOEs) forms

  • Use the MOPO and SIMOPS Risk Register to manage SIMOPS risk identified during the long term pre-planned activities – a two-week look ahead HAZID assessment plan will be based against the Project’s Risk Matrix

  • Conduct and facilitate a Weekly SIMOPS Meeting with designated Construction and Commissioning personnel identified in the SIMOPS Plan

  • Maintain accurate distribution list to distribute NOE forms electronically and well as communicate daily in POD and SIMOPS Meetings

  • Ensure daily minutes of SIMOPS Meeting are distributed electronically site wide

  • Provide support to Planner to ensure P6 (Primavera) activities are aligned to deliver without major SIMOPs conflicts

  • Perform regular review of project documents to ensure that they are fit-for-purpose

  • Assist or facilitate all incident/accident investigations under the direction of the HSE Manager

  • Ensure formal day/night shift is electronically communicated with the PTW/LOTO office each shift

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge, understanding, and experience documenting and implementing SIMOPS procedures and processes

  • Proven ability supporting commissioning and start-up operations

  • Relevant experience working on an LNG project

  • Full life cycle training experience for SIMOPS/PTW/LOTO

  • P6 Primavera knowledge

Additional Qualifications:

  • In lieu of formal education 12 + years of progressive experience

  • Or bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 4 + years of progressive experience with an average experience ranging from 6 - 10 years
