Palmer College of Chiropractic Radiologic Technologist - Teaching Clinic in Port Orange, Florida

The Clinic Radiologic Technologist (RT) is responsible for assuring quality radiographic examinations, patient safety and education of the chiropractic student in radiographic positioning.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Responsible to the assigned administrator and has a support responsibility to all other departments and college personnel as necessary.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform radiographic examinations.

  • Provide mentoring of students regarding radiographic procedures and management of patients in the radiology department.

  • Evaluate student performance of x-ray positioning and patient interaction during radiographic exams, giving constructive feedback.

  • Discuss quality of imaging and ways to improve imaging with students during radiographic exams.

  • Comply with federal, state and local safety and health regulations.

  • Provide reports to the Director of Clinic Radiology to include equipment processes and procedures.

  • Maintain compliance with college policies, procedures and expectations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to perform assigned duties with time pressures and frequent interruptions.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and personably.

  • Ability to utilize necessary radiographic and department equipment.

  • Ability to use computer for electronic health records, scheduling, and various other duties.

  • Ability to resolve routine problems.

  • Ability to work effectively with others in an academic environment.

  • Ability to work various hours as job requires.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree with ARRT certification.

  • At least one year of work-related experience.

  • Must be licensed by state agency appropriate to the campus where employed.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Perform sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted, and temperature-controlled office setting.

  • Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday.
