Thompson Pump and Manufacturing Co., Inc. MATERIALS PLANNER II in Port Orange, Florida

Summary: Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet the requirements of Materials Planner I.

  • Maintain/cleanup of the cross reference table.

  • Responsible for supply planning activity, including creating and maintaining supplier forecasts and purchase orders to meet demand.

  • Make ledger entry adjustments as needed.

  • Enter HS codes and COO and maintain NAV database.

  • Update vendor changes, price changes, and new vendor item numbers.

  • Escalate supply issues to the Materials Manager in the Materials Planner III’s absence, and interact with Purchasing Team to ensure that adequate production is taking place to meet production order requirements.

  • Provide and escalate backorder and low stock concerns to management on weekly basis.

  • Create all vendor owned orders and maintain database.

  • React to all engineering changes to BOM’s in Supervisors absence.

  • Create item cards and check/maintain cards that others have set.

  • Set and adjust safety stock and re-order multiples.

  • Adjust list pricing.

  • General cleanup of part numbers and descriptions.

  • Process monthly valuation reports.

  • Research inventory issues.

    Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 1-3 years of planning/purchasing/Inventory experience is required.

  • At least 1-3 years of Bar-coding experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Responsible for representing Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. in a professional, respectful, honest, and courteous manner with customers and co-workers.

  • Responsible for professional levels of quality and quantity of work.

  • Navision experience a plus.

  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, detailed correspondence and memos.

  • Ability to write detailed correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors and other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

  • Ability to calculate and interpret financial measures such as percentages, margins, ratios and other comparative statistics. Must be able to interpret graphs and other visual representations used to present data.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must be able to read and understand various service manuals, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Must be able to read and understand the Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. Employee Handbook, safety plans/programs, safety training materials and MSDS sheets.
