Indorama Ventures Health & Safety Manager in Port Neches, Texas

Job Description :

Indorama Integrated Oxides & Derivatives is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Health & Safety Manager located at our Port Neches, Texas facility. In this role, you will lead and develop health, and safety programs; develop and drive a safety conscious culture; and ensure the site is in compliance with Health & Safety regulations and Indorama Standards.

What will be expected from you?

  • Responsible for development and implementation of Health & Safety processes required by regulatory agencies, including DHS, OSHA, TCEQ, EPA, and DOT.

  • Drives the site Safety culture to prevent injuries, accidents, and releases. Responsible for assisting site on maintaining Contractor safety performance.

  • Oversees safety training programs and emergency response training drills.

  • Prepares records and issues reports as required by State and/or Federal regulations.

  • Collects, analyzes, and submits Health & Safety data, and leads initiatives to improve site Health & Safety performance.

  • Continuously improves safety conditions by investigating accidents, injuries, & hazards; builds rapport with & supports investigating & monitoring agencies; serves as technical expert on safety committees; & develops and recommends new Health & Safety policies.

  • Manages approval, inspection, and maintenance of plant safety equipment such as PPE, emergency response, and special clothing.

  • Manages site security and the site Facility Security Officer.

  • Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).

  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.

  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.

  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

  • Bachelor’s degree AND 10 years applicable experience performing health and safety functions in a chemical manufacturing plant environment and applying OSHA standards required, OR

  • Master’s degree AND 7 years applicable experience performing health and safety functions in a chemical manufacturing plant environment and applying OSHA standards required.

  • Supervisory experience highly preferred.

  • Must have or be able to obtain TWIC card.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) highly preferred.

  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.

  • Communication and influencing skills are key to success. The successful candidate will interact with all levels of the site organization to influence change and coordinate safety efforts.

  • Self-motivated individual with excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
