Naval Sea Systems Command LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Port Hueneme, California

Summary You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Availability Planning Branch of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. Responsibilities You will develop and maintain a ten-year phased Installation Schedule for surface combatants based on program funding, modernization efforts and emergent Fleet requirements. You will obtain current System Operability Verification Tests (SOVT) dates from the engineering team and other documentation required to build and maintain the schedule. You will represent PHD NSWC at planning meetings with authority to make recommendations within your area of responsibility. You will interface with Program Office Sponsors and engineering team to resolve installation scheduling conflicts. You will conduct alteration readiness assessments. You will review technical and logistic data to identify potential issues and proactively work with the appropriate activities to determine corrective actions and resolutions. You will provide modernization and advanced planning services for surface combatants. You will ensure that alterations planned for assigned availabilities are correctly documented in availability planning literature. You will identify actions required to meet milestones and proactively work to resolve potential issues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing and maintaining an installation schedule to provide modernization and planning services, while resolving scheduling conflicts and ensuring timely completion of alterations for the improvement or optimization of a logistics management program.
