Purpose/Introduction

We are seeking an l&E Reliability Lead to join our team in Port Arthur, Texas. The primary responsibility of the l&E Reliability Lead is to provide instrumentation and electrical engineering day to day support and the preparation and execution of the instrument and electrical portions of small projects for the Port Arthur Plant. #HPCP

Responsibilities

  • Operating reliability and data analysis.

  • Resolve and plan for obsolescence issues concerning the facilities instrumentation, electrical, and control systems.

  • Develop and maintain Lifecycle Management of I&E equipment.

  • Design and execute smaller maintenance/reliability-type projects including modification and/or addition to facilities DCS, PLC, field instrumentation and control, motor control systems, and process analytical systems.

  • Development maintenance and reliability programs and procedures.

  • Maintain an effective rapport with Maintenance, Operations, and Project Engineering groups.

  • Supports continuous improvement of the facility's Mechanical Integrity program.

  • Participate in shop inspections as required.

  • Monitor contractor equipment installation practices/procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes and supplier requirements.

  • Monitor pre-commissioning/commissioning activities of instrument and electrical equipment.

  • Provides instrument and electrical technical support to Operations and Maintenance Teams.

  • Provides design and reliability engineering functions.

  • Utilizes process simulation software to troubleshoot and evaluate designs.

  • Reviews preventive maintenance plans for instrument and electrical equipment and recommend changes in procedures and policies.

  • Work with Corporate SMEs to develop company electrical and instrumentation asset strategies and implement at the plant.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • A minimum of 7 years of related experience.

  • The position requires the ability to multi-task, organize their work, and meet the facilities work schedules.

  • The candidate must possess excellent leadership skills and demonstrate the ability to interact well with others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership Experience

  • Experience with Electrical Safe Work Practices (NFPA 7OE)

  • Experience interpreting the National Electric Code.

  • Experience developing hardware, software, functional and user specifications for l&E systems and associated components

  • Experience reviewing and approving l&E specifications, drawings and other documentation.

  • Experience with compiling construction packages.

  • Past experience providing field support, and participate in check out, commissioning and start up.
